Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Honors Its Occupational Therapy Team!

Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is thrilled to honor its occupational therapists Jennifer Sims, Athena Glisson, and occupational therapy assistant, Jennifer Williams Price!

Jennifer Sims has achieved her ,asters of Science degree in occupational therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2006 with additional coursework emphasizing low vision rehabilitation techniques. She specializes in low vision, driving, and neurological rehabilitation such as stroke or brain injury.

Athena Glisson is a 2003 graduate from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where she achieved her bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy. Athena has experience working with the geriatric population, acute care, sub-acute care, behavioral units, state hospitals, outpatient clinics, long term care facilities as well as cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, dementia, and pulmonary rehabilitation. Athena is modality certified and has served on a neuro team in her clinical profession.

Jennifer Williams Price graduated from Chipola Junior College and Thomasville Community College with an associate of science degree in certified occupational therapy assistant. Jennifer specializes in the treatment of cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary conditions, positioning needs, and specialized needs for dementia clientele. She has been instrumental in the development of two cognitive programs at the facility including “The Beautiful Minds Program” and “Sensory Sensations” as well as an orthotic program for contracture management.

This dedicated therapy team offers extensive educational backgrounds, over 20 combined years of experience, and a passion for caring for others. Each team member strives to provide the best therapy to each elder that they serve.
